About Morgan County Citizens for School Success

We are a grass-roots citizens group working to help pass a school levy on May 13th, 2014 that lowers taxes and keeps our schools strong.

Citizens for School Success began forming in August 2013, growing in force over the past few months. We still need your help. Please sign up by using the Join button on the left-hand side of this page. We are still populating outreach and marketing workgroups that will welcome your participation.

Morgan County has maintained a school levy to help fund its public school system for over 50 years. This past May, the County's school levy was defeated in a special election. This defeat will decrease local funding for our public schools by 53% or $25 million over the next five years. This extreme defunding will hurt our schools, our children and our local economy.

The Morgan County Board of Education will soon propose a new school levy that will reduce overall property taxes from their existing levels while still providing enough funding to adequately run our public schools and continue to provide a competitive education to the children of Morgan County.

We can have lower taxes and a successful school system, but we need to pass the new school levy on May 13th to do so. We need your help to succeed in keeping our schools successful. Join today to make a difference.

Watch this very important video providing facts about the proposed Levy, delivered by Dave Ambrose, President of the Morgan County Board of Education.

This week Citizens for Success Schools ("CSS") is launching a Card Campaign to help gather a large & diverse membership of citizens that can help promote and eventually vote Yes on May 13th for a new school level that lowers taxes and keeps our schools strong.

CSS is distributing thousands of business cards that ask citizens to come to this site and join our organization. If you haven't already, use the Join button to the left to fill out a simple form and help find others to do the same.

Please pass along CSS cards and/or send links of www.MorganCountyCSS.org to family, friends and neighbors. The more that join, the stronger this citizens group will be.

To the left, you will find buttons labeled Talking Points and FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) that share key points of consideration and facts to better inform all of us.

We will add more information and sections as more details become available. In the coming weeks, we will set up systems to help members to connect with what is happening as well as connect with each other.
